Last week, we had the absolute pleasure of joining the wonderful folks at Humber Wild Forest School for a day of outdoor adventure – and what a day it was!
Four lovely families from the East Marsh joined us on this special outing, each of us curious and excited about what lay ahead. The moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a treat. Surrounded by the sights, sounds, and smells of the forest, the children quickly became the stars of the day – free to roam, explore and play in a safe and nurturing natural space.
From climbing and foraging to simply enjoying the great outdoors, the youngsters flourished with every passing hour. They tucked into delicious, wholesome meals cooked over the campfire, shared stories, and even braved the famous compost toilet — affectionately named “The Plop Drop”! 💩🤣
One of the biggest hits of the day was meeting Badger, the Humber Wild working dog, who kept a friendly eye on everyone as the children explored and built confidence in this wild, wonderful environment.
It was truly heartwarming to watch families connect with nature, with each other, and with the community spirit that Humber Wild Forest School embodies.
A huge thank you to everyone at Humber Wild for creating such a magical space — one that puts children and nature first. You’re amazing. ❤️
