This week, East Marsh United have been featured on BBC Humberside thanks to our Halloween costume hire scheme, in which people from the East Marsh and beyond can hire Halloween costumes, masks and decorations for just £3.
Thanks to a very generous donation of a huge selection of adults’ Halloween outfits from Tape2Tape Events, we are able to help reduce the hefty costs of the spooky season that many local families face.
On Tuesday, Lara King from BBC Humberside stopped by at our Talking Tuesdays group session to speak to members of the EMU team (big well done to our Community Outreach Lead Sue Baker!) and local residents about the Halloween costume hire scheme.
We were featured in the following day’s BBC Radio Humberside Breakfast bulletin, Wednesday evening’s Look North programme and in a lovely article on the BBC website, which you can read by clicking here.
You can watch the BBC Look North episode by clicking here – we’re about 18 minutes in!
It’s always lovely to get a mention in the news – whether it’s local, national, or even sometimes global (much to our surprise!) – especially when it’s for something so positive.
If you’re interested in hiring any of our Halloween costumes, drop in to our Talking Tuesdays session in the Seminar Room at Freeman Street Market, Grimsby, from 1pm to 3pm on Tuesdays.
If you’d like to drop in another time to see what we’ve got on offer, just send us a message through our Facebook page here.
