Thank you to our volunteers for helping us with house and garden clearance – amazing work!

East Marsh United are now the proud owners of eight houses, five of which are inhabited by proud east marsh families – we’re doing our best to get the other three ready for three more families and our community have stepped up to help us in this task – for which, we are very grateful 🙂

Two weeks ago, we all arrived at Harold Street with a skip ready to clear the garden of rubbish and unwanted growth – but we discovered that the alleyway leading to the garden was full of it’s own kind of rubbish:

Boo, Cyril and Dan having already made headway, believe it or not!

But, we had fun and worked hard and ultimately got to where we needed to be:

And just this morning, another gang of fantastic volunteers turned out on the bank holiday weekend to clear out similar kinds of rubbish from one of our houses in Rutland Street – we are really lucky to have you guys with us – here’s before and after in the house:

And here before and after in the garden:

And here Andy and Boo take a slight pause from grafting:

Amazing work from everybody and thanks our lovely Mark Hodson for organising this – and to Sian for bacon butties!

We’re heading back to Harold Street to finish the garden clearance on Tuesday morning – give me a shout if you are able to come and help out! billy@eastmarshunited.org
