Still a few tickets left for fantastic one-man show ‘The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists’ this Friday – hurry!

Townsend Theatre Productions and East Marsh United present: The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists

East Marsh United welcomes Townsend Theatre Productions with their one-man show, The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists to Grimsby this Friday 10th December at 7.30 pm.

Join us at the Courtyard for a unique theatre experience. In collaboration with Townsend Productions, EMU is thrilled to present this compelling show. Based on Robert Tressell’s famous novel of working class life, this one -man performance brings to life the characters and story using magic lantern techniques alongside powerful storytelling.

The show has modern day relevance with regard to our current economic climate and draws parallels between a time when there was no welfare state, no union representation and no health service and today where jobs are precarious and our health service is almost at the point of collapse.

The show also contains humorous moments and is a compelling story about what it means to be poor and how we understand our conditions.

The play is suitable for ages 11+.

Running time is 1 hour 45 with a 15 minute interval.

Doors open at 7.00pm and refreshments will be available. Tickets are £3.50 and can be purchased via this link https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-ragged-trousered-philanthropists-tickets-195912287927
