I mentioned the acronym for our group, East Marsh United: EMU. They said, erm, well, you know emus can’t fly, don’t you. I had no comeback, but I’ve just had a little look around at this lovely creature and the following is also true:
- The emu is durable – it has changed little in 80 million years.
- Emus can take the heat – they can forage and walk all day, seemingly without overheating.
- Emus are not capable of any movement backwards.
