Our Community Plan
We’ve spoken to more than 300 residents and held over 40 conversations and sessions to shape the East Marsh Community Plan. Five key themes emerged from those conversations: homes and housing, community, environment, health and wellbeing, and work and education.
The plan reflects what local people care about most. It will guide decisions, projects and partnerships for years to come, making sure change on the East Marsh is led by the people who live here.

The People’s Charter
The People’s Charter for the East Marsh is a community-led commitment to local voice, shared power and collective action. Inspired by historic charters, it sets out a modern promise: that residents should have a real say in shaping their area.
Through the Charter, we’re supporting democratic involvement, community investment – including participatory budgeting – and the creation of a new community space. Together, these ideas reflect a shared belief that regeneration works best when it starts with people.
Put simply?
Hundreds of us sat down and said what we want the East Marsh to be. We talked about things like how to make decisions, where the money should come from to make things happen, and how money should be spent.
Together, the Community Plan and People’s Charter are helping turn ideas into action, and giving the East Marsh a stronger voice in its own future.
