Every small acts is one of hope…
… adding up to big change!
Colour, nature and fresh life
East Marsh United is bringing colour, nature and fresh life back into our neighbourhood. Every new planter, every tree, every patch of wildflowers is a small act of hope — and together they add up to big change.
Take a look at what we've been up to
-
Hanging baskets brightened up Rutland Street.
-
Gardening at Shalom
We started with a potting shed and a few planters at our local church. Now it’s a hub where residents grow fruit, veg and flowers, learn new skills and share time together. Our dream is to have a gardening ambassador on every street.
-
-
Residents made their own wildflower planters to take home.
-
Families got involved in small gardening projects across the neighbourhood.
-
-
-
Community planting days created colour and connection.
-
-
Planting trees in Grant Thorold Park brought new life to the East Marsh – we’re Greening the Marsh and it just feels amazing…we’re getting our community to design Rutland Street so that when we walk down in a few years it will be a natural paradise.

Tree Planting in Grant Thorold Park
We’ve planted 30 new trees in the park at the heart of the East Marsh. It’s a step towards a greener future, giving shade, beauty and cleaner air to generations to come.

Eco & Nature Days
From Eco Day 2024 to Nature Day 2025, our community has come together to celebrate the environment. These events mix hands-on activities with fun, learning and a shared sense of pride in looking after our world.
What's next?
- Keep planting, gardening and growing – together.
- Support residents to start mini-gardens on streets without front yards.
- Expand our gardening hub so more people can learn, grow and share.
- Build on Eco and Nature Days with new events for all ages.
